Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
The Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) on Monday staged a protest outside the Election Commission office, alleging irregularities in the deletion of voters’ names during the SIR process. Party leaders claimed that several names were removed from the electoral roll without proper justification and demanded immediate clarification from the authorities.
SUCI committee member Tarun Naskar alleged that the SIR process is being conducted in an illegal manner and that voters were struck off without any solid basis. He further claimed that even those whose names are currently under consideration face the threat of deletion. The party demanded that the Election Commission clearly state the grounds on which these names were removed.
